Multiple Vantage Points:

Southern California Women Artists, 1980-2006

Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery
February 25 - April 15, 2007

Fifty women artists and a 26-year timeline covering the decades after the rise of the feminist art movement span generations and cultures to offer multiple perspectives on gender, race, the body, history politics, religion and nature.

Curated by Dextra Frankel and Curatorial Consultant, Cheryl Bookout, Multiple Vantage Points complements MOCA's WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution, 1965-1980 and offers Los Angeles audiences an opportunity to explore connections between the dynamic women artists working in Southern California today and the early global history of feminist art. Both exhibitions are part of The Feminist Art Project, a national initiative recognizing the aesthetic and intellectual impact of women in the visual arts and culture.

This exhibition is presented by the collaborative partnership of the Southern California Womens Caucus for Art, Southern California Council of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery. The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery is situated at 4800 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, 90027.
